The Department for Information and In-Service Teacher Training is one of the main units of Trakia University – Stara Zagora, Bulgaria.
The employees’ number is 24 persons, 13 of which are academic staff. DIITT has the necessary equipment (lecture and computer halls, a hostel) that provides opportunities for realization of its goals and main activities in conformity with the Bulgarian government requirements.
DIITT is autonomous in its educational, scientific and administrative activities. DIITT develops and introduces systems for evaluating and maintaining the quality of its employees’ work. 
The main activity of the Department is teachers training in all subjects included in the curriculum of the schools from the system of secondary education. The object of the training is :
-             introducing the new learning contents;
-             training in methodological and didactical issues in teaching school subjects;
-             introducing modern methods of information and communication technologies (ICT) into the educational process;
-             preparation of teachers for new professional-qualification degrees;
-             organization of qualification and specialization of the teachers;
-             language training of pedagogical personnel;
-             organizing and management of the language practice of the Bulgarian Diaspore's students; -             development of educational products: educational presentations, educational video-films, creation and mixing, compiling and editing of pedagogical materials;
-             organizing and holding of an annual pedagogical forum, conferences and etc.
